Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean but moist ground chicken breast
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons ranch seasoning mix
  • 2 green onions, freshly chopped
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 46 burger buns, soft and lightly toasted

Optional Toppings

  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Pickles
  • Avocado slices

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: Combine the ground chicken, shredded cheddar cheese, ranch seasoning, chopped green onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix gently with your hands or a spoon until all ingredients are just blended without overworking the meat to keep the patties tender.
  2. Form the Patties: Divide the mixture evenly into 4 to 6 portions depending on your preferred burger size. Shape each portion into a round, flat patty roughly the size of your burger bun. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to help them cook evenly and prevent puffing.
  3. Preheat and Oil the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, about 375-400°F (190-205°C). Lightly brush the grill grates with oil to prevent sticking and ensure attractive grill marks on the burgers.
  4. Grill the Patties: Place the chicken patties on the grill and cook for 5-6 minutes per side or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). Avoid pressing down on the patties with a spatula to keep them juicy.
  5. Toast the Buns and Assemble: While the patties are finishing, toast the burger buns cut-side down on the grill for 1-2 minutes until lightly golden and crisp. Assemble each burger by layering lettuce, the grilled chicken patty, tomato slices, pickles, avocado, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Don’t overmix the chicken mixture to keep patties tender and juicy.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure burgers reach a safe internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Chill formed patties for 15-30 minutes before grilling to help them hold their shape.
  • Grill with the lid closed to retain heat and promote even cooking.
  • Use finely chopped onions and herbs to evenly distribute add-ins without breaking up the patties.
