Ready in under 30 minutes using fresh or store-bought pizza dough, this quick and flavorful snack provides a healthier alternative to traditional frying with an irresistibly aromatic taste perfect for snacks, appetizers, or parties.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 lb fresh or store-bought pizza dough

Garlic Butter Coating

  • 34 garlic cloves, freshly minced
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Optional Toppings

  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Divide your pizza dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small rope about 6 inches long, preparing them to be tied into knots.
  2. Tie the Knots: Gently tie each rope into a loose knot, taking care not to tie them too tightly to allow proper expansion during cooking.
  3. Mix Garlic Butter: In a bowl, combine melted butter with freshly minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper to create the flavorful garlic butter coating.
  4. Air Fry the Knots: Lightly spray or brush the air fryer basket with oil to prevent sticking. Place the knots in a single layer and air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 8 to 10 minutes or until they are golden brown and puffed up.
  5. Coat and Serve: Immediately after removing the knots from the air fryer, toss them gently in the garlic butter mixture. Optionally, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, serve warm, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Allow dough to rest at room temperature before shaping to make it easier to handle.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary for even crisping.
  • Brush the garlic butter generously onto the knots right after cooking for best flavor absorption.
  • Use fresh minced garlic for a vibrant and fragrant taste rather than powdered garlic.
  • Knots should be golden brown and fully cooked; if not, air fry a few minutes longer.
